Both home and visitors had a good following and the boys of fall put on a good show.

The NE Trojans won the opening coin toss and elected to kick. The visiting Southeast Tigers took advantage and drove down the field and scored a touchdown on the opening drive. Then on their next possession added another for an early 1st quarter lead of 0-14. The Trojans would not be held down long and came back with a touchdown of their own. The tigers would maintain their 14 point lead by scoring another TD before the first half was over.

The second half found the Trojans able to move the ball but could not manage but one more score, while the Tigers added 19 points in the second half for an impressive 14-33 victory.

The visiting Knights lost the JV game, but took their revenge in the varsity game.

The lady Tigers of Southeast played a very good defensive game, but could not get the bats going, while the Lady Knights scored via the long ball with 3 home runs. The final score WL – 6 and SE – 0.

My camera is a weather sealed Canon body and lens and I have gotten some awesome images in the rain before, but this night it seemed no matter where I pointed my camera the rain blew right into my lens.
After a long lighting delay the game continued and I got a few images I thought I would share.

The tigers jumped out to an early lead until the mid innings when the Yellow Jackets stung the Tigers for a big inning. Using Patient Batting they lady Yellow Jackets built a big lead that the lady tigers could not over come.

The Southeast Tigers started their 2010 season Friday Night hosting the Scott Central Rebels. Last year the Rebels handed the Tigers a lost at their home filed. The Tigers returned the favor this year by handing the Rebels a 33-10 loss. The Tigers looked pretty good for the first game of the season, the defense played very well, and despite several turnovers the offense moved the ball well .

That must mean it is softball time. The 2010 Slow Pitch season kicked off for a couple of area teams as the Lady Meridian High Wildcats hosted the Lady Southeast Tigers. First on tap for the evening was a JV match up which was and exciting game that went down to the wire, of course the varsity squad could not be outdone as their game took extra innings to decide the outcome. With the lady Wildcats pulling out the win.

While we enjoyed the week and it was great to be around such talented young ladies, it was a very hectic week. We want to thank everyone on the Board for allowing us to work with the Jr. Miss program and hope everyone is happy with our work.

Well it Saturday the judges had to select a winner and man did they have their work cut out for them. Just getting to the top ten was a tough job, but selecting just one winner out of so many winning young ladies is a job I am glad I did not have to accomplish.

Congrats goes to Hannah Roberts of Covington County!
